This is our second summer since Comfenergy upgraded the attic insulation of our 1999 Cape Cod and we couldn’t be happier! When we purchased this home almost 5 years ago, the second floor temperatures were consistently in the mid 80s and our kids’ bedrooms were very uncomfortable. We replaced the original AC unit and installed an attic fan with no relief.
We needed someone to do a thorough inspection and come up with an effective plan, and that’s exactly what Comfenergy did….
-added foam board insulation over existing insulation on the back of the knee walls, blew cellulose in the angles, sealed all cracks and crevices with foam
-removed old insulation on the floor of the attic, sealed all floor cracks and crevices with closed cell foam
-sprayed closed cell foam on air conditioning ducting that was in the attic. They also found and repaired a section of ducting that had torn and was letting conditioned air out of a gaping hole.
-sprayed cellulose over the entirety of the attic floor to meet current standards
The upstairs temperatures now hold steady at whatever we set the thermostat to, and we’ve seen a change in our electric bill. It was a thorough, multifaceted approach that has been extremely effective and worth every penny. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Comfenergy!
