Attic Insulation Before & After Photos

This customer in Reston called about rodents in their attic and some issues with uneven temperatures throughout their home. Carl Depner went out to do an inspection and identified several potential services to help with the situation. A removal of all old fiberglass insulation was done along with removing any existing rodents and or waste. The floor of the attic was air sealed to help keep conditioned air inside the living space of the home, MoldX fogging spray was done to help reduce the possibility of mold in the future and the entire attic was covered in TruSoft Cellulose insulation. This will all help to better control the temperature inside of the home and reduce the possibility of rodents returning to the attic.

This attic in Reston VA had a big project completed with multiple products and services utilized to help make the homes upper floor more comfortable year round.  We removed the old insulation, used Zyp Foam to air seal the attic, installed Silver Glo insulation panels to a large section, insulated the HVAX duct with spray foam and then filled the space with Tru Soft cellulose insulation.  This homeowner will be more comfortable and pay less to heat and cool their home.  

This Reston, VA attic had low-quality insulation that was making the home too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. We went out to the home and had our sales professional complete a full inspection. He determined that the best solution would be to tear out and dispose of the old insulation, add ZypFoam to air seal the freshly cleared attic floor, and then add new TruSoft cellulose insulation to keep the home comfortable year-round.

Our Certified Home Performance Sales Pro Jason was able to discover how to fix those comfort issues.  In addition to adding a radiant barrier to the attic ceiling, he realized the old insulation needed to be removed so that the attic flooring could be air sealed with Zyp Foam.  After everything was done, the conditioned air inside of the rooms below will now stay there, making the home more comfortable and with more even temperatures.
