Fairfax Virginia Attic Insulation Removal

This home in Fairfax VA had roof leaks that were allowing water and excessive moisture into the attic which resulted in the early stages of mildew and mold.  We developed a project to help fix the attic that involved several steps and coordinating around other services providers that would eventually fix the roof, remove and clean any mold and then paint the inside of the attic after we removed all of the existing insulation.  Once painted and ready for new insulation, we used Zyp Foam to air seal the attic floor before finally blowing insulation in to cover the surfaces and properly insulate the home.

New Attic Hatch landing in Fairfax VA Attic

In addition to air sealing and insulation an attic, it can often be helpful to create a better landing area for someone to stand on when entering the space.  Creating a platform such as this one will help to keep insulation from falling into the hallway below and allows for a way to safely stand in the attic to look around or start to access any utilities or storage space.

Fairfax VA Attic Hatch Upgrade

This Fairfax VA home is undergoing an attic transformation including removal of old insulation, air sealing, spraying to prevent future mold growth and the building of a new attic hatch landing.  This will be a better and safer place to enter the attic and will allow for standing room for anyone needing to navigate the space for service or storage needs.  Building up walls around the attic hatch will help prevent any insulation from falling into the area of the home below when the access door is opened.

Vienna, VA Attic Transformation

This Vienna, VA home was suffering from summers that were too hot and winters that were too cold. This was having a serious negative impact on the comfort level of the home. Our sales professional Greg went out to the property to perform a full home inspection and find the best possible solution to the homeowner’s discomfort. After completing the inspection Greg explained to the homeowners that the primary cause of their discomfort was a poorly insulated attic that was completely lacking in any kind of proper air sealing. He determined that the best course of action to end their discomfort would be to air seal the attic to stop any air leaks and to install new high-end insulation. After the homeowners agreed to Greg's solution our service crews went out to get to work on the home. The crews started by removing all of the old ineffective insulation that was failing to protect the home. After that, they apply ZypFoam air sealant to plug all the potential leaks in the attic to prevent uncontrolled unconditioned air from flowing freely into the home's living spaces. Finally, the crew installed the new TruSoft cellulose insulation to keep the home comfortable year-round.

Vienna VA Attic Chimney Wrap

Part of this attic project in Vienna VA included wrap insulating this Chimney pipe with a rock wool sleeve. This helps keep the heat being exhausted through the chimney from getting into the attic and reduces the potential for fire hazard.  The existing insulation was removed before the attic was air sealed.  The chimney was then wrapped before new insulation was later blown into the attic.
