This is what the attic looked like before we came in!
Here you can see one of the main problems was the holes in the eaves. We will fix this by insulating it with ZypFoam and Air Baffles.
The first step is complete! We have covered the holes, now time for insulation.
The black plastic things we are looking at here are air baffles. They help keep the outside air out and the temperature and air quality in your attic regulated.
What we are looking at in this photo is the orange rectangle on the floor. This is ZypFoam. This is our exclusive one part polyurethane foam used for air sealing. This is used to seal all cracks, the air baffles, and can light covers.
What we are looking at here is a TiteShell Can Light cover in the bottom left corner of the photo. This is a insulating feature that seals off any recess lighting from the floor below. Recess lighting can be a source of leakage and a fire hazard. TiteShell can light covers are fire proof and sealed with ZypFoam.
Another method of insulation used in this home was spray foam! Spray foam can insulate many things in your home from the floors, to the walls, to duct work. It is applied by being literally just sprayed directly onto the problematic area.
Just another shot of some installed spray foam.
Lastly, we need to insulate the entrance into the attic. This home has a drop down ladder and a scuttle cover, both of which we will insulate, The more interesting of the two is most certainly the ladder which you can see insulated in the next photo!
What we are looking at here is an attic hatch cover. This literally zips open and closed for people to come in an out of as they need access to the attic!
