Spray Foam Insulation Case Studies: Spray Foam-Haymarket, VA

Challenge

This interesting home in Haymarket, VA had areas that were very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.  If you look at the cylindrical turrets of the home you can see where the problem areas were.  Fiberglass batts were used to try to insulate these areas.  However, the batts were falling off of these curved walls.

Solution

Comfenergy devised a solution involving closed cell foam spray. We lined the walls with Tyvek house wrap in case the siding ever needed to be replaced. Then, closed cell spray foam was used to make an air tight, perfectly insulated structure.  Once the job was done, the homeowner not only noted the grossly improved comfort levels, but the wind noise went down tremendously too!!!
