Spray Foam Insulation Case Studies: Hot Master Bedroom - Round Hill, VA

Challenge

This Round Hill, VA homeowner had trouble keeping the master bedroom cool in the summer. Through a comprehensive comfort and enegy evaluation, Comfenergy found the problem to be with the thermal barrier (insulation). Within several vertical walls, specifically the master bedroom closet, we found Batt insulation. Batt insulation leaves gaps that hot/cold air can travel around, leaving the room behind it uncomfortable. Fiberglass batts also allow air to travel through.

Solution

Comfenergy removed the fiberglass batts and sprayed closed cell, two part foam spray on the backs of these walls. This seals all of the air gaps and leaks, and insulates the wall much better than the fiberglass batts. Now the master bedroom and closet are more comfortable and their energy bills will go down too!!!
