This Gainesville, VA homeowner had a frozen bib. We needed to replace the pipe and then find a way to prevent it from happening again.

Solution

We replaced the broken CPVC pipe with PEX tubing and then installed a methodology for the customer to drain the water out each winter.

CPVC pipe is brittle when it freezes. These pipes, heading to a hose bib, traveled through a uninsulated garage attic. They froze and cracked along the length.
