Challenge
This Manassas homeowner was looking for a better way to insulate their basement while finishing it. The homeowner was afraid to finish the basement and then have it too cold to use all year round. The basement was also drafty during windy days.
Solution
Comfenergy installed foam panels on the walls to create an air tight vapor barrier and air seal. Plus, these foam boards provide an R10 insulation value even before framing the walls up. Once the walls are up, they can even add batt insulation for a greater insulation value. Comfenergy also used spray foam insulation to seal and insulate the rim joists to lessen drafts, and sweating HVAC duct work in the Summer months.
