Challenge

When hot, humid weather sets in, under-insulated attics are susceptible to air leakage that can compromise the conditions of the home. When conditions are favorable for mold growth, this can lead to spores in the air that could trigger allergic reactions among inhabitants. This home in Waterford, VA had high humidity levels, despite their HVAC system running constantly.

Solution

The problem was from the attic. There was basically no insulation! We blew in cellulose insulation to provide an R49 value, ensuring that this attic and home are energy efficient and successfully making the home more comfortable.
