Challenge
This Alexandria, VA homeowner had high utility bills, and the top floor was hot in the summer, and cold and drafty in the winter. Comfenergy determined there was a ton of air leaks in the attic floor, allowing the heated and cooled air to escape. The hot/cold attic air was allowed to enter the home and make the top floor uncomfortable.
Solution
A very common solution is to air seal and insulate the attic. This homeowner chose to do just tat, but also added the option of having an attic SuperDeck storage area installed too. This is a very efficient solution for storage in an attic.
