This Annandale, VA homeowner was looking to create attic storage space, increase the energy efficiency of their home, and better access to the attic.

The attic floor was first air sealed to increase the energy efficiency.
SilverGlo (4" thick EPS foam boards) was installed on the floor of the attic to create a sturdy, energy efficient (R20) surface for the storage decking.
OS plywood was installed on top of the SilverGlo for a nice, clean look and creating a finished storage space. Check out the plywood "dams" on the sides to keep cellulose out of the storage areas.
New pull-down stairs were installed for better access to the new storage space.
