Challenge

The homeowner had mold in their attic due to condensation. When hot air makes it way into a cool attic, it causes condensation that will form on the roof deck. When you get higher than 60% humidity on an organic surface, like a roof deck, you have the potential to grow mold.

Solution

Our technicians applied MoldX to the moldy attic areas and removed all of the existing insulation. Then they sealed all the accessible penetrations and top plates using expanding polyurethane foam and blowing in TruSoft cellulose insulation. They also installed TiteShell Recessed Can Light covers. These improvements prohibit future condensation and mold growth.
