Whole House Fan-Fredericksburg, VA

Whole house fans are GREAT!!  (For about 2-3 weeks of the year) For our geographic area.  It's way to humid and hot during most of the summer, and way too cold obvisouly in the winter.  During this 45-48 week time period, they do nothing more than allow energy loss in a home.

The before/after pics that follow show you what Comfenergy can do to allow you to keep your whole house fan for when it makes sense....but not loose energy the rest of the year!

Encapsulating Sweating Ducts

This homeowner had moisture damage from sweating ductwork. In the 'Before' picture, you can even see the moisture pooling on the duct! The ducts were not insulated and the attic was poorly insulated. We applied our Tight 'N True encapsulation system to the sweating ducts to ensure that they stay dry and the house stays comfortable.

A "Naked" Attic Gets Insulated

This attic had very little insulation and there was significant air leakage occurring, which was causing comfort issues in the home and high humidity. The blown-in cellulose will now keep this attic properly conditioned and further insulate the vents/ductwork.

Spray Foam Garage Ceiling

Closed cell spray foam being used on a garage ceiling to keep the rooms above warmer in the winter.

Cold basement in Chantilly

This basement in Chantilly was often colder than the client felt it should be. After inspection by Stephen Raddie it was identified that the solution to the cold was to add insulation and spray foam to certain areas in order to create a more improved air seal which allowed for better control the temperature in the basement. Spray foaming the rim joist to seal and insulate made a significant improvement.
