Challenge

This Alexandria, VA homeowner had issues with rodents in their attic. Their pest control company wanted to charge 3 times what Comfenergy was to perform the necessary procedure to rid the attic of rodents and make it so they don't come back!!!!

Solution

Comfenergy put together a solution that involved removal of the existing insulation to start with. Then a good HEPA vacuuming and spray of disenfectant throughout the attic. Dried rodent urine and fecal matter can really make you sick as you breath it into your lungs.

Any large holes were covered with a copper mesh. Rodents HATE the taste of copper. Then the attic wa air sealed and covered with R60 TruSoft cellulose insulation. TruSoft cellulose is recycled paper, treated to keep rodents out!

The now empty attic has been vacuumed and sprayed with a disinfectant mostly for odors.

The attic floor is being air sealed in this picture.

Larger gaps are first covered with copper mesh. Rodents HATE the taste of copper mesh.

Once the copper mesh is installed, then we air seal the larger holes with one part foam.

The final product! Everything covered in TruSoft cellulose insulation. Cellulose is treated with Borates to keep any self cleaning animals (rodents) from coming back.
