Blown-in Insulation Case Studies: Uncomfortable Kid's Bedroom in Philomont, VA

Challenge

Homeowners in Philomont, VA had a child's bedroom that was always uncomfortable. It was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. The attic was under insulated as well as the cantilevered floor between stories, and the 2"x 4" wall insulation in the child's room was not efficient.

Solution

To combat this problem, the Comfenergy team did several things. We air sealed and insulated the attic, encapsulated the duct system in the attic, and upgraded the child's room insulation with inserted dense-packed Pro Wool. This made the child's room much more comfortable, as well as other rooms in the house. The fuel and electric bills were also lowered.
