Blown-in Insulation Case Studies: Hot Guest Bedroom in Brandy Station, VA
Challenge
A Brandy Station, VA homeowner had a guest room that was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Our estimator found that the homeowner's poorly insulated attic had air leaks. The walls were also found to have very little to no fiberglass insulation in them.
Solution
To fix this uncomfortable room, our team first conducted the unpleasant task of removing the existing, damaged and soiled insulation. Once the attic was nice and clean, the whole attic was air sealed. Finally, TiteShell Recessed Can Light Covers were installed and then TruSoft Cellulose was blown in. To further ensure that this guest room would be more comfortable we also upgraded the wall insulation and inserted dense-packed TruSoft cellulose insulation.
