Blown-in Insulation Case Studies: Rodents in Attic-Culpeper, VA

Challenge

The Culpeper, VA homeowner had rodents making nests in their attic. The rodents look for a warm place to live in the winter, and what better place than your attic to keep warm! They were looking for a great way to evict these pests and make sure they didn't come back.

Solution

Comfenergy removed the existing insulation, and vacuumed out the fecal and urine matter. Next, a anti-microbial fogging took place, and covering and obvious entry spots with copper mesh. Rodents hate the taste of copper!!

The attic was then air sealed and new TruSoft cellulose insulation was blown into the attic. This TruSoft is treated with borates that irritate a rodents respiratory system and make it a bad place to live just in case they were to find other ways back into the attic.
