Comfenergy Case Studies: Sterling, VA home insulation

Challenge

This Sterling home had rooms over garage that were too cold in the winter, and too hot in the summer. 

Solution

Comfenergy learned through the home evaluation that there was a tremendous amount of air leakage in the rooms above the garage causing these rooms to be hotter/colder than others. We first covered the can lights and sealed them air tight. Next we wrapped the metal flue chimney for safety protection. Finally we air sealed the attic above these rooms and blew TruSoft cellulose insulation.

These rooms will be much warmer this winter, and much cooler next summer!!!
